This Eric Clapton Songs page is written about the Hot guitar solo Eric did while playing "Mean Woman Blues" with Carl Perkins and Dave Edmunds during the 1985 Blue Suede Shoes television special taped in London.
Clapton is pure dynamite as he unleashes some of the hottest guitar solos he has played since his glory years nearly twenty years earlier.
I first heard and seen this song performed by Elvis in the movie "Loving You" back in 1957. That remains one of my very favorite movie clips by Elvis.
Of all the Eric Clapton Songs played during this Special this jaw-dropping solo is by far worth the price of the DVD alone.
Of course the tempo and arrangement from the movie song is quite different.
This version is pure Rockabilly and simple shows two legends just having fun.
Side Bar: The lyrics have been noticeable changed in some parts but with flames coming off Eric's guitar I didn't pay much attention to the lyrics.
Mean Woman Blues

Hmm, well I got a woman mean as she can be
Well I got a woman mean as she can be
Some-a-times I think she's almost mean as me
She gotta ruby lips, she got shapely hips, yeah
Boy she makes ole roy-oy flip
I got a woman mean as she can be
Some-a-times I think she's almost mean as me
Well I ain't braggin, it's understood
Everything I do, well I sure do it good
Yeah I got a woman mean as she can be
Some-a-times I think she's almost mean as me
Well!
She gotta ruby lips, she got shapely hips, yeah
Boy she makes ole roy-oy flip
I got a woman mean as she can be
Some-a-times I think she's almost mean as me, easy now
Well I got a woman
Yeah I got a woman
Yeah I got a woman
Well I got a woman
Some-a-times I think she's almost mean as me
